The Kogi State Council, Nigeria Union of Journalists, has condole with Brigadier General Shaibu Gegu over the passing of his beloved wife Hajiya Habibah Shaibu.
Similarly, the NUJ equally commiserated with Engr. Bashiru Gegu over the loss of his elder brother’s wife, pointing out that the Union is deeply touched by the death.

the Council on behalf of the Council extended it heartfelt condolences to Brigadier General Shaibu, Engr. Bashiru Gegu, the Gegu family and the entire people of Gegu Beki and Nigeria Army at large on the loss, described the passing as a sad loss.
The Council prayed that Almighty Allah grants the deceased eternal rest, prayed that the memories of the life and legacies of the deceased, bring comfort to Brig. Gen. Shaibu and the entire Abubakar Gegu family.
The Council prayed for strength and fortitude for the entire Abubakar Gegu family to carry on in the face of this irreparable loss.
