The Dynamic Ebira Friends Club (DE-FriendsClub) in partnership with KWADECO Pharmaceutical Nigeria Limited has provided free medical treatment for over 700 persons in Okene, Kogi State.
Speaking on Sunday during the closing of the exercise, the National President of the club, Mallam Enesi Abdulrahaman Ahmed called on individuals and organizations to support quality healthcare to complement the efforts government in providing affordable healthcare service to the people.
The president who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Salihu Abdullahi mentioned that, Kogi State government has invested much in health sector to provide quality healthcare to it’s citizens, saying government required support from individuals and organizations to take healthcare to the door steps of the less privilege especially those in the rural communities.
The president said “The essence of the free medical care is to save lives, saying recent development shows cases of sudden death and other diseases which can easily be identified and treated.
“It is on this note that Our club distributed free drugs , free treatment to the sick in the society for various diseases. The club has also selected schools for Quiz competition with the best three awarded scholarship to university level.
“This gesture is to complement the efforts of the state government, in the upliftment of health sector in the state. Kogi State had invested so much in the health sector and the government also required organization such as Dynamic Ebira Club and others to support healthcare services in the state”.
The National president who charged the beneficiaries to take the advantage of the free medical care to enable them receive the requisite treatment that will enhance their health status in the areas of High blood pressure, malaria, typhoid, severe cough amongst others .
According to the national president the club has been in existence for over 26 years and have sunk Borehole in okunchi in Adavi local government area Distributed drugs to hospital across kogi central senatorial District.
In his remark, the Medical Doctor who coordinated the medical outreach, Dr. Ismail Zubair commended the Club for given back to society and assured that treatment and drugs will be utilized for the benefits of the people.
