Kogi state Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has approved automatic employment to the best graduating students from each faculty of CUSTECH Osara.
The governor made that know during the maiden convocation ceremony of the University on Saturday.
The convocation,held at the University main campus in Osara celebrated 132 Graduates from 2023/2024 .academic session and 134 from 2024/2025 session.
“Today that dream stand tall and dignified in academic growth “Governor Ododo declared.
“The vision of the University has been accomplished and by the grace of God, “We have improved the structure from scope, and raised the standard to make Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) a world class Institution of learning.
“
Governor Ododo paid growing tribute to his predecessor and founder former governor Yahaya Bello for the foresight that birthed the CUSTECH over five years ago.
Governor Ododo high lighted major infrastructural Investment that have transformed the University including the completion of internal road network, construction of male and female hostels, the ongoing senate building,Library complex, medical lecture theatres,the construction of parameter fencing, CCTV system and enhanced security facilities and several construction works that are ongoing .
The process reflect our shared commitment to building a university that every kogites will be proud of, he said.
A major announcement that draw the attention of the public applause was the federal approval of CUSTECH MBBS programme backed by the University world class teaching Hospital.
According to Governor Ododo, this achievement will raise a generation of medical scientists and health Practioners who will serve humanity with skill, compassion and patriotism “.
The Governor express profound gratitude to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift response during the abduction of CUSTECH students earlier this year, saying that action shows the president commitment to secure the country.
In his remarks, the chancellor of CUSTECH HRH Chief Anthony Ehizoje Abumere the Onoje of Ewu (two) thank the state government for the privilege of service and encouraged the graduants to be a good ambassadors
to the innovation, entrepreneurship and responsible citizens .
Presenting his address, the vice chancellor professor Abdulrahaman Aspita Salawu described the convocation as a remarkable one in the life of the Young University. He revealed that CUSTECH now runs 56 NUC approved programme across 44 departments, Eight faculties, one college of serving a student’s population of over five thousand.
The founder of the University former Governor of kogi state Alhaji Yahaya Bello CON commends His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo for sustaining and expanding the vision that led to the establishment of the three state universities during his administration.
The former governor appeal to all kogites to support the present administration in all ramifications.
The ceremony highlights was the presentation of cash award to exceptional graduating students, the overall best student, the overall best student graduates Omachanu Shedrach 2023/2024 and Umuhairat Oyiza Sheidu 2024/2025 expressed their gratitude and pledged to uphold the value of excellence and service.
The landmark event was attended by prominent Nigerians including minister of steel development, former governor Yahaya Bello,former governor Idris Wada, traditional rulers captain of industries,top federal and state government officials amongst other.
