Towards ensuring peace and tranquility in Kogi central, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM, Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Mohammed Anaje last weekend summoned an extra ordinary Ebira stakeholders meeting to discuss issues of serious concern.
The stakeholders meeting which was attended by all the traditional rulers, district head’s, leadership of Ebira People Association (EPA), Ebira Youth Congress and Ebira Youth Voice of Nigeria, held at the event Hall of the Ohinoyi palace, Okene.
In his opening address, the Ohinoyi who said that the extra ordinary meeting of stakeholders was called to brief the people recalled that in recent time, that move by an interest group to attempt to carve Ajaokuta LGA from Kogi central to form part of propose Okura state without the consent of the people, precipitated an unease and tension in Kogi Central.
Speaking further, the Ohinoyi disclosed that in order for the tension generated not to escalate and possibly result into breakdown of law and order in the area swift and concerted efforts were made through meetings, consultations within critical stakeholders in Egbraland and security Agents on the other hand.
He then expressed relief and happiness that efforts made to douse the tension generated yielded positive results.
The Ohinoyi then vowed that under his reign he will protect the interest of the people of Ebiraland.
The Royal father also stressed the need for the people to bridge communication gap and always consult on issues in order to get well-informed.
Earlier, the president General Egbira People Association EPA, Dr Godwin Oyibo briefed the meeting on the various meetings/Consultations with stakeholders home and outside over the vexing issue of attempts by certain group to exercise Ajaokuta from Egbiraland.
He then assured the people not to lose sleep over the matter as everything will be put in place to checkmate Intruders and people with sinister motives.
